Alan Kyeremanteng's camp shocked by results...

Alan Kyerematen one of the candidates seeking the New Patriotic Party's (NPP) presidential ticket has expressed surprise at the number of votes received from Sunday's Super Delegate's Congress.

This was revealed by his spokesperson, Nana Ohene Ntow in an interview with Citi News.

Votes from 10 out of the 11 centres indicate that the 2012 Presidential candidate, Nana Akufo Addo, is currently in the lead with a wide margin.

"Particularly, I am a bit surprised at the result we have received from the Central and the Western region and also the two upper regions. Because the indication that most of the delegates gave is completely different from the results that we are getting , but that is their mandate and they have expressed it" he added.

The Super Delegates Conference was aimed at pruning the number of aspirants from five to seven.

The seven aspirants that contested in Sunday's super congress include Nana Akufo-Addo, Alan Kyeremanten, Stephen Asamoah Boateng, Dr. Konadu Apraku, Addai Nimo, Kofi Osei Ameyaw, and Joe Ghartey

Mr. Ntow said it was strange for Mr Kyeremanten to receive such low votes considering his contributions to the party.

"You can imagine that, a man of Alan's calibre, what he has done for the party, having served the party for this long will get no result in his own region. It is really strange. I am telling myself there must be something that I need to understand. For now we will wait for the full results to come in before we analyze'"
