Two armed robbers shoot and kill a police officer, injure another in broad day light...

Two unidentified armed robbers this afternoon (Thursday, July 13, 2017) shot and killed one police officer on the spot, and injured his colleague officer who were on their routine motorbike patrols within Lapaz near Las Pamas restaurant in Accra.

The two unarmed police officers were in the process of foiling the robbery operations of the two unidentified armed robbers when the unfortunate incident happened.

The armed robbers after their act abandoned their motorbike and snatched an unregistered ash Hyundai Elantra saloon vehicle before speeding off in the direction of Mallam Junction.

Ghana Police have officially confirmed the death of the police officer who unfortunately died while receiving treatment at the Police Hospital.

The other officer who was seriously injured has also been admitted to the Police Hospital and is said to be in stable condition.

In a signed statement issued by ASP Effia Tenge of the Public Affairs Unit of the Accra Regional Police command, it said:

“Two Police personnel on their routine motorbike patrols within Lapaz were gunned down by two unidentified men on an unregistered motorbike who are currently on the run.”

The Ghana Police have urged the general public to remain calm whilst all efforts are being made to arrest the perpetrators of the crime and bring them to book.
