Morris Babyface Biography:

Born Marx Morris Twumasi, Morris Babyface aka Morris D’Voice Lovit is a prolific and accomplished Ghanaian record/music producer, singer, songwriter, keyboardist, and now an ordained pastor.

Unarguably, Morris Babyface still remains Ghana’s all time best record/music producer, winning Ghana Music Awards’ “Best Sound Engineer of The Year” twice in the early 2000s — and this was at the time one of Ghana’s greats, Zapp Mallet had virtually ‘monopolized’ that aspect of the award scheme.

Remember, the likes of Killbeatz, MOG Beatz, Willisbeatz, DJ Breezy, Unkle Beatz, and Richie were, perhaps, ‘newly born babies’ who were crawling on the ground at the time Morris was in his prime.

He’s the only prominent Kumasi-based record/music producer who never moved his base to the capital, Accra — as it has become the norm — and yet, was able to move the entire prominent artistes from Accra to Kumasi to record their individual mega hit songs.

As the best keyboardist in Ghana — with Kwame Yeboah of Kojo Antwi band fame as his only competitor — Morris’ prowess in music production is simply superb and incomparable.

Crentstil, Obour, Obrafour, Okyeame Kwame, Okomfoo Kwadee, Kontihene, Tagoe Sisters, Esther Smith, Ohemaa Mercy, Noble Nketia, Sony Achiba, and many others.

The two-time Ghana Music Awards producer/sound engineer of the year winner is now an ordained pastor and as a result, produces ONLY gospel music. He has therefore stopped the production of secular music.

Morris Babyface with his silky smooth voice has stunned many people across the world, and it stills remains his most powerful musical asset yet.

Morris Babyface Music Production Career

Morris began his career right from infancy by singing and playing musical instruments at church.

As a music producer, his first major hit was a hiphop song titled “Wontumi Me” by Nana K in the late 90s.

In the early 2000s, Morris settled down as the resident studio engineer at the then newly established “Hitz Digital Recording Studio” by one Whiteman named Roberto at Asokwa in Kumasi.

And it was at “Hitz Digital Recording Studio” that the likes of Okomfo Kwadee, Kontihene, Sony Achiba (Hipdia man), Mr Oduro (“Abiba” hitmaker), D’Lawal, Esther Smith, Noble Nketia, Diana Asamoah, Kasapreko, and Osaman Kwaku were introduced to the world.

After creating hits upon hits for the unknown and already established artistes, Morris later moved and settled at a privately owned recording studio by Osofo (another great music producer) at Patasi in Kumasi.

Whilst at Patasi, Babyface continued with his magic wand and produced mega hits for the likes of Obour  (“Konkontibaa” ft. Samini), Lord Kenya (“Champion (Chompia)”, Ofori Amponsah, Okyeame Kwame, Okomfour Kwadee, Esther Smith,  Moses OK, Victoria Sarfo, Lucky Mensah, Naa Agyemang, Bradez, and Sidney (“Obia Ny3 Obia” and “Wanna Money”).

In 2009, Morris as a recording and performing artist released his debut album titled “Shame On You” under One Mic Entertainment owned by Okyeame Kwame.

Just when the “Shame on You” track on the “Shame On You” album was receiving massive airplay, Morris’ encounter with Prophet Emmanuel Amoah of the Gentle Ministry and Prayer Camp changed his life forever.

He has since stopped the production of secular music and ONLY produces gospel music after receiving a prophecy to win souls for Christ.
