Armed security operatives storm Woyome's homes with valuation officers...

Valuation officers, accompanied by armed security operatives Tuesday morning went to the Kokomlemle residence of businessman, Mr Alfred Agbesi Woyome to value the Accra property, which is located near Caprice.

The team also went to his other homes at Abelemkpe and Trassaco Valley, all in Accra to value the properties, Graphic Online gathers.

The move followed a court warrant dated September 13, 2017.

The valuation officers had been detailed by the Attorney General as part of processes to help retrieve the Ghc51.2million Mr Woyome owes the state.

Graphic Online gathers that Mr Woyome was not convinced by the reason given by the security officers and expressed concern about how the warrant was secured considering the courts were on vacation.


The Supreme Court on July 24, 2017 ordered Mr Alfred Agbesi Woyome to produce the property number and documents of the Abelemkpe house, which he claims belonged to his brother.

The court further ordered the registrar to subpoena the Head of the Lands Commission to come and ascertain the true owner of the said property located at Abelemkpe in Accra.

The court presided over by a single judge, Mr Justice Anthony Alfred Benin, gave the orders during the oral examination of the businessman by the Attorney General in relation to his Ghc51.2m indebtedness to the state.

During the oral examination, Mr Woyome told the court that he lives in two houses but one belonged to his brother and it is being used as a family house.

This was disputed by the Deputy Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Mr Godfred Yeboah Dame, who prayed the court to make an order for Woyome to produce documents on the house.

Mr Woyome responded that the documents were with his brother who lives in the USA.

Mr Woyome also told the court that he has not engaged in any business since his prosecution in 2011

The oral examination continues on October 2 and 3, 2017 due to the legal vacation which started from August 1 and ends on September 31.
